Road closed after car flips in Banwell crash

Passengers have escaped without serious injury following a crash in North Somerset which left a vehicle on its side.

Fire crews from Avonmouth, Weston-super-Mare and Winscombe stations were all called to a collision involving an overturned vehicle yesterday evening (April 28).

On arrival at around 9pm, they found all passengers had already been rescued.

Crews remained in Castle Hill, Banwell, to make the vehicle safe while ambulance crews were also in attendance.

Pictures taken at the scene show one of the vehicles on its side, with two of its wheels on the side of the road.

A spokesperson for Winscombe fire station said on Twitter the injuries could have "been a lot worse".

Last night we attended a two vehicle RTC alongside  @AFRSWeston, @ASPolice & @swasFT," he said.

"Thankfully no serious injuries this time and could of been a lot worse."
