Road blocked in Manchester's Gay Village after crash involving BMW

A road in Manchester's Gay Village was blocked on Wednesday evening (May 24) after a crash reportedly involving a BMW and a Mini.

Police and paramedics attended the scene on Sackville Street, outside adult store Clonezone, at around 5.30pm.

It was later confirmed by police that the collision was minor, involving a grey BMW and a mini. No serious injuries were reported and nobody was trapped.

A witness told the Manchester Evening News that police were seen taking statements at the scene. Pictures showed an ambulance as well as officers in attendance.

"The junction of Sackville Street and Bloom Street was brought to a sudden standstill," they said. "In the distance, police cars and the fire brigade could be heard arriving on blue lights.

"Once people from they grey car removed, several members of fire brigade attempted to move the car and get traffic moving again."

The North West Ambulance Service has been approached for further details.
