Road blocked in Bolton after tractor trailer overturns and spills its load

A tractor trailer has overturned and spilled its load, leaving a road blocked in Bolton.

Soil was left strewn across Hall Lane bridge, on the border of Moses Gate and Little Lever, after the trailer ended up upside down just after 7am on Friday (February 14).

Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) confirmed the road was completely blocked - and that there would be delays.

Bosses tweeted: "Due to an overturned vehicle, Hall Lane in Moses Gate is blocked in both directions. You may experience extended journey times when travelling in the area."

Drivers and described traffic as being at a standstill.

One person posted on Facebook: "Avoid Moses Gate, Crompton Lodges at all costs, tractor crashed, upside down, pretty bad."

Another commented: "Do not try to come out of the village via Radcliffe Road. It is backed up literally all the way from Darcy Lever to the village."

North West Ambulance Service said they were not called to the incident.
