Roads were blocked by police after a two car crash.
At around 10.15am on Tuesday, officers were called to a report of a crash on Rainhill Road, Rainhill involving a red Ford Fiesta and a white Fiat 500.
Pictures of the scene show the red Ford Fiesta with damage to the driver's side and the tyre coming away from the body of the vehicle.

Both drivers remained at the scene and a woman and a man received treatment by paramedics for minor injuries, police said.
Rainhill Road and Elton Road are currently closed as police carry out enquiries following the crash.
Merseytravel also issued an update for its 10A bus services which were diverted.
The service will be going via Delph Lane, Portico Lane and Scholes Lane.
The full update said: "Due to a road traffic collision on Rainhill Rd.
"All 10A services will be diverted, omitting the area. Going via Delph Lane, Portico Lane & Scholes Lane."
A Merseyside Police spokesperson said: "Both drivers remained at the scene.
"A woman and a man received treatment at the scene by paramedics for minor injuries.
"Rainhill road and Elton Road is currently closed whilst enquiries are carried out."
