Road between Arnold and Calverton to close as roadworks begin

A road between Calverton and Arnold is set to be closed while roadworks take place.

Georges Lane will shut between its junction with Lime Lane in Arnold and Main Street in Calverton.

This is because the council will be installing new signs and kerbs on the stretch of road along with renewing a safety barrier.

The closure will run from 7.30am until 5.30pm from Wednesday, December 16 until Thursday, December 17.

The works, which are being carried out by Via East Midlands in association with Nottinghamshire County Council, will mean the road is completely closed to motorists.

A diversion has been set up via Main Street, Bonner Hill, Foxwood Lane, Bank Hill, Nottingham Road and finally Woodborough Lane - and vice versa heading from Arnold towards Calverton.

The diversion, which is around 3.7 miles long and estimated to take approximately seven minutes, will be enforced while the roadworks take place.
