RNLI, Coast Guard helicopter, gardai, ambulances and fire services attend after car enters water in Cork City

Emergency services are currently at the scene of an incident at the marina in Cork City this afternoon.

A car has entered the water just beyond Cork Port and a number of units have been called into action.

A coast guard helicopter has been called in to assist in the ongoing operation, Cork Beo reports.

A number of units of the Gardai along with the fire brigade, ambulances and Crosshaven RNLI are all at the scene currently.

Gardai at the scene said they are currently awaiting navy divers as the depth of the water at the current point is too deep for the fire service.

A garda spokesperson said: "Today Saturday 18th January 2020 at approximately 1pm, Gardaí and Emergency Services were called to the scene following reports of a car entering the water at Kennedy Quay, Cork City."
