Riyad Mahrez's wife Taylor Ward announces she's expecting child with Man City star

Manchester City winger Riyad Mahrez is expecting his first child with Taylor Ward after his wife shared the happy news on social media.

The Algeria captain, 30, married Ward, 24, late last year having got engaged during a luxury break to the Greek island of Mykonos in June.

The model, who has over 1.7million followers on Instagram, is the daughter of Real Housewives of Cheshire star Dawn, 48, and former footballer Ashley, 51.

Mahrez has two daughters from his previous marriage to Rita Johal and will welcome his third child later this year.

Sharing a picture from a recent holiday to the Maldives during the Premier League winter break, Ward can be seen holding her baby scans while her husband has his hand on her baby bump.

She captioned the post, "Where life begins and love never ends," and received well wishes from a number of influencers including Love Island star Moly-Mae Hague.

Ward, one of Dawn and Ashley's four daughters, and Mahrez live together in a £2million mansion in Cheshire, and the footballer proposed with a £400,000 ring last year.

The former Leicester ace had another reason to celebrate over the weekend as he scored twice and picked up an assist in Manchester City's 4-1 win over Fulham in the FA Cup.

He set up Ilkay Gundogan's early equaliser and scored twice in the second half including a cool penalty.

Mahrez's double saw took him to 15 goals in 26 appearances this season and City's top scorer drew lavish praise from Pep Guardiola.

"As a player he has a special quality," the Sky Blues boss said of Mahrez. "In the last year we struggled with penalties and now he is a guarantee.

"He scores every penalty he takes and especially under pressure. You take a penalty at 4-0 and it is easy but last season in [Borussia] Dortmund he scored when we were 1-0 down and this season 1-0 down against Arsenal he scored.

"He has the personality to take the ball and do it."

Mahrez's appearance in Saturday's cup clash was his first for City since he departed for the Africa Cup of Nations in January.

He struggled to carry over his brilliant club form to the international stage and failed to score or assist as Algeria, who arrived at the tournament as defending champions, were dumped out at the group stage.

This opened the door for a new name to be etched on the trophy and Senegal were crowned AFCON champions for the first time in their history with a penalty shootout victory over Egypt on Sunday night.
