Riyad Mahrez replaces Raheem Sterling as Man City fans name their starting line-up for Leeds United

Manchester City fans have made the decision to omit Raheem Sterling from their starting line-up to face Leeds United on Tuesday night.

The Englishman has enjoyed a return to form in recent weeks and scored the winning goal in the win over Wolves as the Blues continued their spell at the Premier League summit.

He has two goals and an assist in his last four but City fans have opted for a change in the front three for the visit of Marcelo Bielsa's side.

Kyle Walker was left out of the win over Bruno Lage's side after picking up a red card in the defeat to RB Leipzig in their 'dead-rubber' final Champions League group stage match.

Here is how the City supporters want Guardiola to line up this evening...

Goalkeeper - Ederson

The ever-reliable Brazilian kept his 100th clean sheet on Saturday in the win over Wolves and against Leeds he has been chosen to continue in the position.

Zach Steffen did his selection credentials no harm in the defeat to RB Leipzig last week but will need to do a great deal to overhaul the 28-year-old.

Defenders - Kyle Walker, Ruben Dias, Aymeric Laporte, Oleksandr Zinchenko

Joao Cancelo's yellow card at the weekend will see him miss the visit of the West Yorkshire side allowing for Kyle Walker to try and get back into Pep Guardiola good books after his dismissal in midweek.

The English full-back lashed out at Leipzig goalscorer Andre Silva and was shown a straight red for his misdemeanour, as a result, he missed the win over Wolves on Saturday but now has an opportunity to play his way back into the Spaniard's plans.

As for the defensive duo, they're set to maintain their place as central defenders as Leeds pose the penultimate challenge before Christmas with City travelling to St James' Park on Saturday before a week's break.

Oleksandr Zinchenko looks set to continue at full-back as he continues his pursuit of reaching full fitness.

Midfield - Kevin de Bruyne, Rodri , Bernardo Silva

Man City fans are predicting a first league start for Kevin de Bruyne since he returned following his bout with coronavirus. The Belgian has managed just 49 minutes of top-flight football since his comeback after cameos against Watford and Wolves.

Whilst Rodri and Bernardo have been touted to continue their formidable form for the Blues.

Attackers - Riyad Mahrez, Gabriel Jesus, Phil Foden

There is no room for Jack Grealish or Sterling as Riyad Mahrez and Phil Foden enter the fray after missing out on the starting line-up last time out.

Foden did feature whilst the Algerian was on the bench during the win but Man City fans believe that Jesus is worthy of maintaining his starting place alongside Mahrez and the talented Englishman.
