Riverside Museum to host Christmas festival with traditional fairground rides... and it's free to attend

Riverside Museum is hosting a Christmas festival next weekend.

The perfect antidote to Black Friday, visitors will be taken back in time as they wander through a traditional Christmas Market in the cobbled Victorian Street –  where you can browse the stalls for stocking fillers and unusual gifts.

There will also be traditional fairground rides – including dodgems, a carousel, swings and a hoopla – which will be free to enjoy.

The museum will host an autism-friendly hour between 10am and 11am for visitors who prefer a calmer, less crowded environment.
The fairground rides will be running without music outside and the Christmas fair will be open inside.

The event takes place next Saturday and Sunday December 7-8.
