Riverside "buzzing" after Jeanfield extend unbeaten league run to seven games

The Riverside is buzzing at the moment and it’s a feeling all at Jeanfield Swifts don’t want to fade away.

Saturday afternoon brought another victory for the Perth men and nudged their unbeaten league start to seven games.

This time a 3-1 home win over Broxburn Athletic helped to keep the feel-good factor flowing strong.

Gary Fergus and Chris McLeish had Swifts two to the good before the visitors had Conor Kelly sent off as half-time approached.

Broxburn didn’t throw in the towel and Gordon Donaldson pulled them back into the game.

But Connor McLaren netted the third with little over 10 minutes remaining to round off the win.

“We always expected a tough game but all the boys, to a man, were excellent again,” said McLaren.

“The second half was always going to be a bit tougher when they were down to 10 men, as is often the case.

“But it was good to wrap it up.  Grabbing the third sealed the points and on a personal note it was good to be back on the scoresheet after a slow start with injury.

“The place is buzzing at the minute and a lot of momentum is beginning to build.  We want to keep that going.

“I think it’s down to the full team putting in the work in training and working towards trying to achieve some silverware this season.”

Swifts sit third in the Premier Division and six points off top of the table Tranent.  But the Perth side has two games in hand.
