Riverfront Food Festival at Vijayawada’s Punnami Ghat offers a taste of all major Indian cuisines

Over 20 stalls have been set up at the Riverfront Food Festival, organised by the Vijayawada Municipal Corporation at Punnami Ghat, to offer visitors a taste of all the major Indian cuisines.

The nine-day food festival has ‘Flavours of India’ as its theme and is open to the public between 5 p.m. and 11 p.m. till May 7. Apart from food, the event features attractions such as stand-up comedy shows, rock music, dance and cultural programmes.

The festival was inaugurated on Saturday by Mayor Rayana Bhagyalakshmi, along with MLA Velampalli Srinivasa Rao, MLC Md. Rahulla, VMC commissioner Swapnil Dinkar Pundkar and others.

DCP Vishal Gunni inspected the security arrangements the same day and asked the local police to ensure that no untoward incident occurred at the venue, which is close the river Krishna.
