The iconic Riverdance "transformed" Ireland when it made its debut in 1994, the producer behind the performance has claimed.
The dance was first seen as an interval act at the Eurovision Song Contest in Dublin 25 years ago tomorrow.
However it has since become an international phenomenon, and the live tour has taken in 515 venues worldwide across 47 countries.
And the show is back on Irish shores for another summer run with a young talented cast who bring the same energy that Michael Flatley and Jean Butler brought to that original performance in the Point Theatre 25 years ago.
Producer of the original performance Moya Doherty claimed the act formed part of an Irish "cultural awakening".
She said: “Just as my life changed with Eurovision 1994 so the cultural image of Ireland was also transformed.
"Irish culture, expressed in this case through dance and music, and as part of a wider, cultural awakening, took its place with confidence on the world stage.”
Riverdance will run at the Gaiety Theatre from June 11 – September 15, with tickets now on sale in person at the Gaiety Box Office and on Ticketmaster.
