River Island has confirmed its Pontypridd store will close this month.
The news comes after various companies across the UK have announced store closures following the coronavirus pandemic.
It comes as a tough blow to the town that suffered severe consequences following flooding when Storm Dennis hit.
Just weeks later the country was put on lockdown which put the town on pause when it was slowly starting to get back on its feet.
Since the flooding some businesses have still not re-opened, while others have put all their energy into making the most of a fresh start.
When asked about the closure of the Pontypridd store, a spokeswoman for River Island said: "I can confirm that the store will close on 31 August."
Earlier this month it was also announced the retailer's branch in Carmarthen would also close its doors.
The Pontypridd branch lies on Taff Street at the premises that previously homed Clarks.
