River Island shoppers were divided after spotting a pair of £42 Chanel dupe sandals online.
Chanel's iconic quilted dad sandals were seen everywhere last summer and have inspired multiple retailers to launch similar versions for a fraction of the price.
The double strap sandals incorporate a velcro fastening in a style reminiscent of orthopaedic shoes, with a plush quilted fabric in a wide range of colours and Chanel's famous double C logo emblazoned on the straps, combining high fashion with comfort.

The quilted Chanel sandals are often spotted on celebrities, influencers and more - and it seems the trend isn't going anywhere yet.
High street favourite River Island shared a photo of its own dad sandals on Instagram, which are incredibly similar to Chanel's but available for £42, as opposed to a starting price of £1,500 for a Chanel pair.
After posting a photo originally shared by @hannahchelsiehudson, River Island caused a stir online.
The photo of the beige sandals racked up more than 5,000 likes in less than 24 hours but shoppers were divided.
They shared their thoughts in the comments section.

But some shoppers were impressed with the sandals.
