River Clyde search and rescue – Police appeal to public for information after report of man in water

Police Scotland is appealing to the public for information after they were unable to trace a man spotted in the River Clyde last night.

Police, fire and ambulance services raced to Broomielaw Road in the city centre following reports of a man in the water near the Glasgow Bridge at around 7:20pm.

Despite a search of the area, the man was not found – though enquiries are continuing.

The force  say it's "imperative" they establish the man's identity to inform his family and ask anyone in the area at that time to contact them "as they could provide vital information."

Anyone with information is asked to call officers at Baird Street Police Station via 101, quoting incident number 3625 of Thursday 6 June 2019.
