River Clyde police search continues following reports of man entering water

A major rescue operation continues on the River Clyde this morning after reports of someone entering the water.

Police have returned to search the river around a Glasgow Bridge after an emergency response at around 2:30pm yesterday.

Boats were seen trawling the water for hours, with paramedics at the scene and a police helicopter spotted in the area.

Detectives are appealing to anyone with information over the incident to contact the force.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Officers are resuming searches around the River Clyde today, following reports of a man entering the water near to a Glasgow Bridge, at around 2.30pm on Tuesday, 11 May.

"Anyone with information should contact police on 101, quoting incident 1746 of 11 May."
