A man has subsequently been taken to Glasgow's Royal Infirmary hospital.

A Police Scotland spokesperson confirmed: "Around 12.30pm on Tuesday, 1 December, officers were called to the Anderston Quay area of Glasgow following concern for a man. The man was traced and has been taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary for treatment."

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 12.42pm on Tuesday, December 1 to assist our emergency service partners at an incident at Washington Street, Glasgow.

“Operations Control mobilised two appliances and water rescue resources to the scene.”
