A memorial day will take place in June to honour those who have lost their lives to the River CLyde.
The River Clyde Memorial Group (RCMG) has revealed the special remembrance event will take place at Glasgow Green on June 30, just yards from the People's Palace.
More than £1,000 has been raised by RCMG members, who are determined to make it a special day for bereaved families, and have a packed schedule of guest appearances, music, prayer and poetry readings planned.
The RCMG is a voluntary organisation set up by well-known local cabbie and mental health advocate Stef Shaw.
It was formed as an extension to his successful ‘Think Again’ campaign - to prevent suicides - after Glasgow City Council committed to trial a series of emergency lifeline telephones and clear Samaritans signage along the banks of the river as a safety precaution.
They aim to raise awareness about safety issues along the Clyde and want to reduce the number of people losing their lives, by signposting other services and promoting discussions about mental well being.
