River City star Jordan Young blasts TUI after luggage damaged like it was thrown to 'great white shark'

River City star Jordan Young was not happy following his return from a family holiday in Mallorca. The actor was fuming when he went to retrieve his luggage at the airport after arriving back in Scotland, only to find his luggage had been damaged so badly it looked like it had been thrown to a "great white shark".

Jordan, who plays Alex Murdoch in the popular BBC Scotland soap, took to Twitter to tell the firm exactly what he thought about the state of his cases. He said: "Hi @TUIUK we arrived back from Mallorca today with your company. My case came off the plane like you threw it to a Great White Shark. I searched for someone to complain to but there was nobody there. Nobody is answering my calls either. Could you PM me to resolve this, thanks."

Dad-of-two Jordan, who also stars in cop comedy Scots Squad, shared an image of the bust luggage alongside his angry tweet.

Some of his 42,000 Twitter followers attempted to lighten his mood by coming up with some puns about the situation, while others tried to console him by telling him they'd had similar experiences.

A spokesperson for TUI said: "We’re sorry to hear about Mr Young’s experience with his luggage. We are investigating this with our baggage handling provider to find out exactly what has happened and we’ll be in touch directly with Mr Young as soon as possible to resolve the issue."

One said: "That is awful. Bad seeing this. Really feel for you. Hope Tui respond soon." One added: "Contact them on the app, they wrecked my case while on holiday and gave me £50 to replace."

One said: "Omg what a mess x"

One said: "Unbelievable scenes. Seems an open and shut case to me." And one said: "Can’t get the staff to do it, now hiring sharks."

One joked: "Might have been the sniffer dog's at work."

Referencing a Shieldinch storyline, one River City fan said: "Does that mean his case is falling apart then. Sorry Jordan, I hope you get it all sorted out. I couldn't resist a bit tongue in cheek. Oh and I hope Lenny survives - Leaving us in suspense till after the summer."
