River City star Leah MacRae has hit back at online trolls who have abused her over her weight.
The actress was mocked after an “unflattering” photo of her playing Ellie McLean in the BBC show was posted on its Facebook page.
The picture led to a number of derogatory comments about her size.
Leah, 37, posted another photo which was taken minutes after the original one, showing her smiling.
She said: “It’s worth pointing out the difference the angle of a shot can make.
"Yes, we shouldn’t need to explain ourselves or respond to people who are unkind.
"But when you’re on the receiving end of it and it's far from the first occasion it’s happened, sometimes it needs to be called out.”
