10 10 Art Space presents "River > Birth", an immersive installation that extends from the "Re > Birth" series by Thirasak Tanapatanakul, until July 24.
Rooted in the artist's long-term relationship with nature, shaped through living and working on his family project, Burgbarnburi, in Khao Yai, his work emerges from direct observation of fire, water, growth and transformation.
These elements are not treated as symbolic representations, but as lived experiences translated into artistic form. While the "Re > Birth" series questioned how one might begin again in the aftermath of collapse, this exhibition shifts from viewing renewal as an event towards sensing it as a state -- a state of flow, transfer and transformation that continuously unfolds within both nature and life.
At the gallery, the space is reconfigured into an environment that viewers gradually move through -- from traces of charcoal and pink blossoms, to inverted mountain forms that transform into sources of water; from reservoirs of moisture, moss and vitality, to a dark transitional tunnel, before opening into a luminous space that remains active and alive.
The viewer doesn't stand outside the work, but becomes part of its flow -- through movement, bodily presence and perception -- rather than following a linear trajectory from origin to destination.
The exhibition proposes an understanding of renewal as a continuously shifting state. Loss, accumulation, growth and movement are not separate conditions but coexist. It encourages viewers to ponder the reality of life and nature that change isn't a beginning or an end, but an ongoing cycle we all live within.
10 10 Art Space is located at The Standard X, Bangkok Phra Arthit. The exhibition is open for public viewing daily from 9am to 8pm.
