Rivaldo predicts Steven Gerrard's first signing as Liverpool manager

Steven Gerrard might have dismissed speculation suggesting he will take over as Liverpool manager in the short term future, but that hasn't stopped one player being tipped as his potential first signing should he ever returns to Anfield as manager.

World Cup winner Rivaldo believes the Liverpool legend to take Ianis Hagi with him from Rangers, having previously seen the 22-year-old play alongside his son, Rivaldinho, at Viitorul Constanta.

Son of Romania legend Gheorghe, the playmaker joined Rangers permanently last summer following a successful half-season stint on loan from Genk and has impressed for the Gers this season, scoring six goals from 27 appearances as they clinched the Scottish Premiership title last weekend.

After winning his first silverware as manager, Gerrard has continued to be linked with a return to his former club in the dugout, having made no secret of his desire to take over as Liverpool manager at some point in the future.

And Rivaldo expects such a move to to happen sooner rather than later with the Brazilian also tipping the Reds legend to take the Romania international with him to Anfield.

"I am sure Gerrard will go to Liverpool one day," the Brazil legend was quoted as saying by Romanian journalist Emanuel Roşu (@Emishor on Twitter).

"Maybe Ianis Hagi could make the step with him and follow him to Anfield."
