Rita Ora shares defiant bedroom selfie after being criticised for fleeing to country home

Rita Ora has returned to Instagram with a steamy bedroom selfie after being heavily criticised over accusations she of fled her London home to relax at a country retreat amid the UK lockdown.

The defiant singer, 29, seemed unbothered by the backlash as she posted a series of sexy pics from the rented country house she is said to be staying at during quarantine.

Rita, who lives in North London, is staying with a bunch of her pals at the property in the South West, according to reports flouting the the government's "stay at home" guidelines during the coronavirus pandemic.

However Rita's representative spoke out to say the pop starlet had been staying in the property since before the lockdown to work on her album, and she was with work colleagues and not friends.

The star will be isolating at the mansion for "at least another three weeks" according to one source.

One local resident reportedly left an angry comment on an online group, writing: "Surely she should respect the rules and have stayed in f****** London?"

Despite the drama, Rita has been sharing snaps from her luxury retreat and urging her fans to stay at home.

One of Rita's friends told The Sun: "She is deadly serious about coronavirus lockdown and doing her bit by self- isolating and not travelling home."

Rita revealed this month that her mum Vera, 56, has returned to work as a psychiatrist to  help during the outbreak.

The star said she was so proud of her mum it had inspired her to become an NHS volunteer.

Appearing on This Morning she said: "I think my mum is truly... she thrives off doing her duty, and what made me want to volunteer is that I just found seeing it first hand this is so real that I felt like what could I possibly do?

"I just think it's truly heroic, seeing all the doctors on the front line. It goes to show we as a humanity can still come together and be unified, it's truly truly an amazing time to come out the other end and think we can do this together."
