Rita Ora's plunging neckline not a boob, says BBC

Rita Ora’s low-cut white jacket has been deemed “glamorous” and “striking” by a surprisingly defiant BBC, despite provoking more than 400 complaints from viewers of The One Show on Monday.

The newly-installed Voice coach took to The One Show couch alongside fellow coach, the Kaiser Chief’s Ricky Wilson, to promote the TV singing contest.

But her decision to wear nothing underneath an Ermanno Scervino blazer proved an unwelcome distraction, to say the least, for some viewers.

A BBC spokesman said One Show guests are allowed to choose their own attire after the on-air, um ... inside boob non-existent neckline provoked 424 complaints, as of Wednesday afternoon.

“We didn’t feel that Rita’s outfit would be outside of most viewers’ expectations of that of a major pop star, but we appreciate that tastes vary,” they said.

The One Show itself was more apologetic, posting on its Facebook page: “We’re sorry to those of you who were offended by Rita Ora’s choice of outfit on yesterday’s show. If we had been consulted on it we would have requested she wore something more suitable for 7pm.”

Perhaps the BBC should have held onto the flesh-tone testcard it recently auctioned off just for colour balance.

Or maybe Ofcom will force The One Show to introduce some spinning chairs in order to save viewers’ blushes.
