Rita Ora’s mom is providing all of the body inspiration we need this summer. Vera Ora, 55, looked very much like her 28-year-old daughter as she posed by the pool in a strapless one-piece in West Hollywood yesterday.
Vera is a breast cancer survivor and was wearing one of Melissa Odabash's post-mastectomy swimsuits in the post. She captioned her supermodel-esque picture, “I modelled for the charity as their ambassador not because I am a professional model but to increase awareness and help all women affected get their confidence back.”
The post-mastectomy swimsuits feature sewn-in cups and high backs to help support women who have just undergone the surgery.
Vera was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2005 and underwent a double-mastectomy shortly after. The diagnosis not only affected Vera, but according to The Daily Mail, impacted her family as well. “The whole family is still left with the anxieties that cancer ingrains. Rita gets anxious and sometimes has panic attacks. (At the time) Rita rebelled a little, bunking off school for a couple of weeks. It was her mental escape," Vera said.
Rita has since grown out of her rebellious teenage years and is showing nothing but love for her family. She recently attended her brother, Don’s, college graduation and posted a heartwarming congratulations picture with him captioned, “I’m so proud of my brother for graduating your so smart and the kindest human. Here’s to your future!”
Vera posted a similarly heartwarming post captioned, “Graduation appreciation!”
Instagram posts likely won’t be the only thing the mother-daughter duo have in common for the years to come. Their resemblance is uncanny, and it doesn’t seem like Vera will be aging anytime soon.
