Risk management firm Willis Towers Watson takes space at No8 First Street

Willis Towers Watson has become the latest firm to take space at an office building in the £500m First Street development.

The risk management and advisory firm announced it signed a ten-year lease for 11,590 sq ft of office space at No8 First Street, which sits on the edge of Manchester’s new public square Tony Wilson Place.

Willis Towers Watson will join the likes of cinema giant Odeon, Gazprom and professional services firm WSP as the building’s tenants.

Mark Baldwin, associate director at Avison Young, the leasing agent on behalf of the Greater Manchester Property Venture Fund (GMPVF), said: “Securing a global name of Willis Towers Watson’s calibre is a massive endorsement for No8, which already has a high-profile tenant mix.

“The company’s arrival now leaves only one final floor in the building, an unrivalled 26,500 sq ft of Grade A office space with a largely column-free floorplate, that offers flexible working layouts for businesses looking to provide a unique location for their workforce.”

Avison Young and Savills are joint agents on the scheme and JLL were advisors to Willis Towers Watson.
