Tania Cohen, director of services and enterprise for the Charity Finance Group, explains why Niroosha Loganathan should win the Rising Star category of the Guardian Small Business Showcase competition:
I have been blown away by the maturity and performance of Niroosha, our young HR Manager. Over the last 12 months with little support she has managed complex HR issues relating to an organisational restructure, supported managers with performance and change management, managed a high workload including significant levels of staff recruitment, supported a couple of members of staff with very difficult personal issues, provided excellent support to the senior management team, and managed our governance.
These are tasks that she hasn’t tackled before, but she has demonstrated a natural talent and leadership in taking the work forward. She has stepped up to the challenge with a level of dedication and commitment that I haven’t seen from people with 30 years more experience.
With wisdom beyond her years, exceptional good humour and calmness, she has shown remarkable resilience when faced with challenging circumstances. She has gone above and beyond to support the organisation and has big ideas about the future.
I’m genuinely so impressed by her maturity, dedication, talent, drive, confidence, quality, insight, judgement, perspective, resilience, sensitivity, attitude and leadership, and am excited about what she will achieve next.
All entries which meet the competition criteria are published and our judging panel select a shortlist of the top three for each category. Winners are announced at an awards ceremony in summer 2016.
