Alvaro Vinasco, finance director of Makeup London Academy, explains why Nancy Miguel should win the Rising Star category of the Guardian Small Business Showcase competition:
Nancy is a natural leader, and is someone who is always motivating the team, teaching and helping others. She is a great influence among our young people in the fashion and beauty industry, and has a unique way of reaching a new generation through mentoring and coaching those around her.
She is a woman in business with the ability to create things and make it happen. She is a mum of three, a wife, and a senior creative director and yet she is still able to produce remarkable results. She also gives a lot of her time to charity, mentoring young people from the South American community.
She is a true inspiration and one of the great female role models in today’s world.
All entries which meet the competition criteria are published and our judging panel select a shortlist of the top three for each category. Winners are announced at an awards ceremony in summer 2016.
