Vicki has worked at PSW as a secretary in our dispute resolution team for a number of years and has always been a great support to the management team in terms of IT and use of our systems. We are a small business and don’t have dedicated IT personnel on the staff.
We were delighted earlier this year when Vicki put herself forward for the new secretarial coordinator position we had created. Due to our growth and the ever increasing reliance on excellent support, we felt that the secretarial team needed a voice - this role brought about cohesion within the team across different practice areas.
Since Vicki has taken on the role, she has introduced regular lunches where training needs are addressed and best practice shared; she has voluntarily taken on training in our case management system to be able to script changes herself; and has taken a hands-on role in inductions both for support staff and lawyers, training them in the IT system as well as firm’s processes and procedures.
Vicki takes the firm’s quality standards very seriously and has made some great suggestions for improvements to productivity and efficiency. She makes the life of the management team a great deal easier, plus during her time in the new role, staff turnover within the secretarial team has been zero. If I had known what a huge benefit creating this role would be, I would have done it years ago.
