Lucy Smith, office manager, joined Minerva in December 2012 and, since then, has proven beyond any shadow of doubt that she is an exceptional asset. The nine to five concept is alien to Lucy; she works to get the job done, to meet a deadline or to flesh out new and innovative ideas.
Our business is in rapid growth resulting in me being away from the office on frequent client visits. Lucy has been required to work under her own initiative as well as training and managing a new member of staff.
Our business is all about saving schools money. In the last 12 months, Lucy has been directly responsible for generating ongoing annual savings in excess of £250,000 for the schools we work with. From a marketing perspective Lucy, without being asked, produced the 101 Points to a Perfect Procurement Process e-book enabling us to showcase our expertise and generate new enquiries.
Lucy has a never-say-die attitude. On top of all of these impressive points Lucy is also a very caring individual; she recently booked me a day off with a spa treatment (paid for by her) as she felt I needed a break.
The biggest compliment I can pay to Lucy is the fact that when I ask myself the question ‘Could I run this business without her?’ the answer is a resounding ‘no’!
