My intern should receive the Rising Star award. Anna is a student from Japan who came to the UK to study international business relations for one year at the University of Sheffield. During this time she took the initiative to find an internship to learn about working for a UK company.
Anna has worked extremely hard for my startup business while in the UK. She was so diligent that upon her return to Japan and to her Japanese university she asked if she could continue to work as an intern remotely from Japan. Because of her fantastic work, I accepted.
Given that we live in the digital age with access to the internet including email, FaceTime, Skype and WhatsApp, I have been able to continue to work with Anna without any disruption to my business even with the time difference in Japan. Anna is currently researching the Japanese market for me and provides me with her ideas, thoughts, excellent market research skills and language skills to translate documents from Japanese to English as well as speaking to potential suppliers from Japan.
There is no task that overwhelms Anna. She has the initiative and drive to go above and beyond her duties. Anna is a pleasure to work with. I am very impressed by the quality of her work as well as her diligence, initiative and professional work ethic.
Because of my positive experience with Anna, I am open to accepting more students to work with me.
