Rising Northern Ireland star 'could be set for big money move' to Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest are understood to have tabled a £2m bid for Northern Ireland international Gavin Whyte.

The Belfast Telegraph report on Sunday that "rising star Gavin Whyte could be set for a big money move" to the City Ground this summer.

Winger Whyte, 23, currently plays for League One Oxford, joining them last summer from Irish Premier League side Crusaders.

Belfast-born Whyte enjoyed great success with Crusaders, winning three league titles and scoring 43 goals in 132 matches for the club.

He moved to Oxford on a three-year deal in July 2018 and made an impressive impact in his first season in English football, playing 36 league games and scoring seven goals for The U's - scoring his first hat-trick in professional football against Shrewsbury Town in April.

He has won four caps for Northern Ireland, scoring his first goal for his country on his debut against Israel.
