Rishi Sunak takes tumble on ice rink and falls onto daughter as they enjoy day out

Rishi Sunak was pictured taking a tumble and falling onto his daughter as they enjoyed a day out at an ice rink.

The Chancellor, who is dad to Krishna and Anoushka, was on a day out with family at the Natural History Museum in London.

Dressed in jeans and a casual jacket, he held one of his daughter's hands as they moved around the rink, but the MP lost his balance and landed on top of her.

Fellow skater Maddie 28, a communications officer from London, was with her boyfriend James, 29, when she snapped the images around 2.25pm this afternoon.

She said: "He landed on his kid and James offered to help him up.

"He was skating for ten minutes before he staggered and dragged her down.

"People are all looking and had previously been taking pics.

"He was down for about 10 secs and got himself up."

Rishi got back on his skates and was soon taking selfies with shocked onlookers.

This comes after Mr Sunak was last month accused of going "missing in action" as it emerged he was in California rather than at his Treasury desk planning how to help struggling businesses.

Sources at the time told the Mirror that the Chancellor was on a four-day official trip leaving his team back home scrabbling to work out a package of support.

Unions called on Mr Sunak to announce immediate measures to help workers and firms in the hardest hit hospitality, leisure and arts sectors.

He was then pictured finally back in the UK for crisis talks with hospitality leaders.

The Chancellor then said “I appreciate that it is a difficult time for the hospitality industry” and promised the Government would continue to do “whatever it takes” to support lives and livelihoods.
