'Rishi Sunak gives with one hand and takes with two, making working people suffer'

Grabbing dozens of £20 notes out of someone’s pay then grudgingly giving a few quid back would be a bad deal.

So Conservative Chancellor Rishi Sunak returning a fraction of what he’s taking is a giant con, a very bad deal. Raising National Insurance and freezing income tax thresholds in April, costing a typical household £600, as energy bills soar another £695.

And multi-millionaire Rishi lecturing the peasants to be grateful exposes his true, uncaring Thatcherite ideology as he imposes the heaviest tax burden for 70 years. Even that £200 short-term reduction in sky high power bills is only a loan that must be repaid.

Add interest rate rise and wages way behind rocketing inflation and 2022 ought to see angry workers protesting.

If the economy is what Boris Johnson wants us to focus on to move away from Partygate, the PM will be swept from Downing Street.

Nobody except the criminally gullible could believe him now, as he dips his hand deep into our wallets and purses – decades of strong growth the only way to fix what Tory mismanagement created.

Shell’s astronomical profits justify Labour’s windfall tax on North sea oil and gas bonanzas.

Sunak and Johnson deciding families must pay may just prove to be political suicide.
