Rishabh Shetty's 'Kantara' received immense love and appreciation from the audience and also made record-breaking collections at the box office last year. Now, the actor-director has shared some exciting details about 'Kantara 2'.
Rishab recently participated in the 100-day success celebration of Kantara where he said that the second part of the movie will be released in 2024. According to him, 'Kantara 2' will not be a sequel but a prequel. Because the plot of the next part will be the event that takes place many years before this. He also added that it will go into the background of the deity.
The film became the second highest-grossing Kannada film of 2022. Despite having a spot at the Oscars’ contention list, 'Kantara' was not nominated for the Oscars 2023.
Another report in a news portal had revealed that Malayalam actor-director Mohanlal had approached Rishab Shetty to act in his upcoming film 'Malaikottai Vaaliban', a period drama. However, Rishabh turned down the opportunity saying he wanted to focus on Kannada films.
