Whether it’s knitting or gardening, over-65s are usually associated with fairly old-fashioned activities.
But a new survey suggests that this group may be turning its hand to a much more modern activity - video gaming.
The survey was conducted as part of the Must Play May campaign, and asked 2,000 adults about their gaming habits.
It revealed that 42% of 55-64-year-olds enjoy playing video games, while 27% of over-65s have enjoyed playing video games in the past five years.

Strategy games proved to be the most popular (40%) in the older age group, while 20% said they play multiplayer games to keep up with their grandchildren.
The campaign is supported by Ellie Gibson and Helen Thorn, from the Scummy Mummies podcast.
They said: “Playing games is a fab way to spend time with your children or grandchildren - it's an activity they'll definitely enjoy, and who knows? You might just end up having a great time too."
