Ripped Ben Fogle has 'no excuses' as he unleashes abs and runs topless through the snow

Adventurer, broadcaster and writer Ben Fogle showed what he's made of as he boasted the recent dump of snow wasn't going to prevent him from working out.

The famously fit adventure-obsessive, 47, whipped off his shirt and donned nothing but trainers and skimpy workout shorts as he pounded the pavements in the biting cold.

"No excuses," he wrote, "Do you want to run or do you NEED to run?

"Exercise the brain and look after your well-being. In the absence of an ice cold lake I'm practising an alternative @iceman_hof method. Cold is all in the brain.

"Embrace the chill. Have a great day."

"You are a mad man!" one follower wrote, "Cold is one thing I can't force my brain to ignore!"

"Mad as a box of frogs!" another joked.

"Impressive Ben, well done," a third commended.

A fourth cheered: "Go Ben!"

Ben recently took the opportunity to congratulate best mate and fellow athlete James Cracknell on his recent engagement.

They famously rowed across the Atlantic Ocean together during their decade-crossing friendship.

And sharing a snap of James and fiancée Jordan Connell's announcement in the paper, Ben wrote: "Thrilled at your engagement @jamescracknell.

"What a journey you have been on since we rowed the Atlantic ocean 15 years ago. Our friendship has spanned highs and lows, peaks and troughs, dad dancing, life and near death.

"Life doesn't follow a prescription. It doesn't always turn out the way you planned. Sometimes you have to roll with the punches. You remain my friend and hero.

"You deserve to be happy and I'm thrilled for you and Jordan."

Ben has even conquered Mount Everest (ITV)

Ben's social media presence is full of workout inspo, including snippet looks at some of his biggest adventures over the years.

A recent offering saw him slogging his way up a snowy mountain face, sharing a quote from personal hero and first-time Mount Everest conqueror Edmund Hillary.

"It's not the mountain we conquer but ourselves," Hillary once said.
