A dispute over a well-done steak became so heated the landlady of a pub called the police - who turned up in a riot van.
Nicola Kendal got into an argument with the owner of the White Hart Pub in Iron Acton after refusing to pay for her steak because she believed it was overcooked.
Although she ordered a medium 16oz T-bone steak, she says it came out "very well done, overcooked and tough", which led her to tell staff she wouldn't be paying.
An argument erupted when she was charged £10 on the bill for the £18.95 meal, the Bristol Post reports.
"It went back and forth for a bit, and all of a sudden her partner said 'I've pressed the button, no one is leaving until the police arrive'."
The pub was placed into lockdown, and Ms Kendal said two police cars and a riot van arrived at the pub.
"I was just so shaken by it at this point. I eventually paid the money so I could just get out of there."
The landlady, Joanna Keane, said Ms Kendal was acting in a "lairy and aggressive" manner, leading her to call the police.
Police confirmed a car and a "response van" attended the pub, the Daily Mail reports, after staff complained customers were "acting aggressively".
Officers established no criminal offences had been committed. No further action was taken.
