Jynxzi has been banned from League of Legends after purchasing a Level 30 account to bypass the game’s new player onboarding process. The ban came during his second day playing the game, after a coaching session with Tyler1 marked the start of his League arc. Shortly after the ban was applied, Riot’s creator team reached out to the streamer to give him an official creator account allowing him to jump back into the game.
The streamer acknowledged the violation on stream without pushing back against the ban. “I bought my account because I didn’t want to play against bots for 30 hours,” Jynxzi said. Purchasing pre-leveled accounts violates Riot’s Terms of Service and is a bannable offense regardless of a player’s profile. “I understand the ban, bro. I just want to be iron,” he told his chat.
The creator’s initial purchase of the leveled up account, and the subsequent ban both became topics for community discussion, especially beacuse Riot’s official League of Legends X account posted a clip of Jynxzi’s stream earlier. Many pointed out the hypocrisy of promoting a streamer with a purchased account, while banning others for the same offense.
Following the ban, other viewers pointed out that League of Legends’ long-winded onboarding process can often turn players off from the game, as they need to play dozens of games before being allowed to play ranked at all.
Jynxzi receives creator account from Riot
Riot Games employee Drew Levin, who flagged the account violation publicly, also reached out to Jynxzi to facilitate a resolution through Riot’s creator program. Rather than reinstating the banned account, Riot provided Jynxzi with a fresh, officially sanctioned creator account. “Our creator team has an account for you,” Levin said.
The creator account already has ranked mode unlocked, with Jynxzi set to begin his climb from the bottom of the ladder as originally planned. His on-stream reaction to the account made his emotions clear, as he exclaimed, “Wait, Iron account! W Drew”. With the creator account, Jynxzi’s League arc is back underway, as the streamer grinds his way out of the Iron ranks.
