Rio Ferdinand trolls Liverpool fans after Victor Lindelof 'foul' leads to Man Utd goal

Rio Ferdinand has trolled the Liverpool fans by praising Victor Lindelof's "brilliant challenge" in the build up to Manchester United's opening goal.

The Sweden international appeared to foul Divock Origi in the build-up to Marcus Rashford's effort, before feeding Daniel James on the wing.

The Welshman sprinted down the byline and found Rashford in the area with a whipped cross, with the England international tapping home.

Jurgen Klopp was furious in the dugout, and VAR took a look at Linedelof's challenge before it was adjudged that no foul how been committed and the goal stood.

Reacting to the goal on Twitter, Ferdinand tweeted: "GET IN THERE. Brilliant challenge from Lindelof. Vision from Daniel James. Movement from Marcus Rashford."

More VAR controversy quickly followed after Sadio Mane scored an equaliser for Liverpool.

United players claimed that the Reds striker had handled the ball in the build up and VAR took a closer look, discovering that Mane did indeed touch the ball.

The goal was then disallowed, frustrating Liverpool that bit more.
