Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand will be in West Belfast next week to help launch a new satellite office for one of the UK’s major football agencies.
New Era Global Sports Management currently looks after a host of top players and former professionals including Ferdinand, Harry Redknapp, Robbie Savage and current Republic of Ireland boss Mick McCarthy.
The company is expanding into Northern Ireland by opening its first office outside of its London headquarters.
The Belfast base will be located at the Innovation Factory on the Springfield Road and will be run by local football agent Lee Mudd.
Lee enjoyed a playing career with clubs including Glentoran and Brighton & Hove Albion before taking up the role of chief scout in Ireland for Brentford and Crystal Palace.
New Era’s owners are ex-footballers Jamie Moralee and Peter Smith.
Ex-England star Ferdinand and former Wales international Danny Gabbidon are ambassadors for the agency.
