Mikel Arteta and Arsenal have been issued a challenge ahead of Sunday's clash against Manchester United.
The Gunners will go into the game at Old Trafford - after Thursday night's Europa League encounter with Dundalk - on the back of a disappointing 1-0 defeat at the hands of Leicester City.
Jamie Vardy's late goal means it's back-to-back defeats for Arteta 's side in the Premier League following the international break, and perhaps more worrying they haven't found the back of the net.
However, they don't have much time to lick their wounds as another big game is on the horizon.
And United legend Rio Ferdinand has told Arteta that his side can't afford to repeat mistakes from previous seasons where they've not responded to such setbacks.
"They've been having a party since [Thomas] Partey signed. Reality hits home now," Ferdinand said on his FIVE YouTube channel . "They've got to respond. I’ve said it about Everton and I’m going to say the same thing about Arsenal: it’s how you respond to these situations.
"Too many times in the past Arsenal have not responded in these situations and have gone on runs losing games and they drift away.
"They can’t have that happen this season.
"I think Arteta has been a breath of fresh air at the Emirates. This is now a big time to say to the boys: 'Listen, you've lost, that's it, we move on'.
"And that’s the mentality shift that he has to implement in this squad.
"Can he do it? We'll wait and see."
The good news for the Gunners is that Arteta does hold a victory over Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in his one and only meeting against the United manager.
Furthermore, the north London outfit are unbeaten against the Red Devils in four Premier League encounters.
However, it's been over five years since Arsenal last won away at a 'top six' rival and have already been beaten by Liverpool and Manchester City this season.
