Rio Ferdinand talks up Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho partnership at Man Utd

Rio Ferdinand reckons a Manchester United attack featuring Jadon Sancho and Marcus Rashford will have opponents fearing "it's over".

The former Old Trafford star is confident that United will come through the coronavirus pandemic in a stronger financial position than most.

Sancho has been a long-term target for the Red Devils and could be on the move this summer.

Borussia Dortmund have slapped a £100m price tag on their prized asset which could prevent any deal from happening.

But Ferdinand is already licking his lips at the prospect of the English pair teaming up in Manchester.

"Financially Man United are in a stronger position than most, because of the way that the club is structured,’ Ferdinand told The Beautiful Game Podcast.

"I’d definitely buy Sancho. Could you imagine Sancho in that team with him drawing like two or three players to him and then Rashford is playing one-v-one? Oh God. It’s over."

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is in the midst of an overhaul at Old Trafford as he looks to alter the club's transfer strategy and playing style.

Young, homegrown talent is a priority when it comes to recruitment hence his interest in Sancho.

Rashford has led the way for United in the goalscoring charts so far this term.

The academy graduate is now playing under his third manager since bursting onto the scene in 2016, but the Norwegian claims the striker's ability has never been in question.

"Rashford could be up there with the best, 100 per cent, because he’s just got mad talent," he added.

"From a kid I’ve seen him play, whether it was up front, or wide or drifting about, he’s always had mad talent and at Man United, within the corridors, they have always known."
