Rio Ferdinand shares 'too cute' photo of himself and baby son in matching loungewear

Proud dad Rio Ferdinand looked the picture of contentment as he cradled his baby son in matching loungewear.

The 42-year-old former Manchester United player and his boy Cree were twinning in taupe tracksuits.

Football pundit Rio completed the look in matching furry-lined slippers bearing his initials.

He shared a photo on his Instagram and wrote to his 4.5m followers.

"Father & Son matching up day!! 1st of many #fatherandson."

"Too cute," cooed one follower.

"Adorable," messaged another fan.

"Priceless picture Rio," said another about the snap, which the doting dad has altered to obscure his face in order to protect his identity.

His wife Kate, 29, recently told her Instagram followers that a combination of having new baby, lockdown and lack of sleep had got to her.

Kate, who is stepmum to Rio's children Lorenz, 14, Tate, 12, and Tia, nine, said that although she feels lucky to have welcomed their beautiful baby boy Cree into the world before Christmas, she said her emotions and anxiety were at an 'all time high.'

Kate, who had a traumatic birth by caesarean section, later thanked her followers for their messages of support and shared a list of things she's grateful for.

And her Manchester United legend husband Rio showed his love and support for his sweetheart by writing 'grateful' alongside a love heart.

After the birth Kate posted a photo of herself holding newborn Cree in her pants.

She was praised for her honesty as she spoke about having an emergency cesarean section and shared a snap of wearing a large pair of black knickers, which she advised is an essential item for mums-to-be.
