Rio Ferdinand's Kate Wright wedding gift that left her in tears

A wedding gift from Rio Ferdinand to Kate Wright left the former TOWIE star in tears.

The pair celebrated their wedding in Turkey on Friday and the 28-year-old has revealed that Rio gave her a book that had something he loved about her written on each page.

Kate had given her bridesmaids gifts but she was also showered with presents from the retired footballer.

She told OK! magazine: "I got all the bridesmaids a little box with a few gifts and Tia was crying her eyes out.

"Rio also got me a book that I was given in the morning and on each page it said something that he loved about me. We all read it together and we were all crying.

"Tia turned to me and said she never thought she’d be this happy and I was gone with emotion from then."

The happy couple exchanged vows in front of close family and friends at the five-star luxury D Maris Bay hotel, in Turkey on Friday, reports the Mirror .

And Kate wasn't the only one crying, as Rio admitted he got "so emotional" when he saw his daughter Tia, eight, walk down the aisle before seeing his stunning new bride.

“I cried as soon as the day started. Seeing Tia walk up the aisle before Kate set me off. It was just so emotional.

"There was just no going back on the emotion, that’s why I had to keep my shades on!

"Seeing Tate and Lorenz walk Kate down the aisle was particularly poignant and we wouldn’t have wanted to do it any other way.

"They were so proud and they couldn’t wait to do that, they felt important."

The nuptials were shrouded in secrecy, with guests asked to hand over their phones before the three-day celebrations got underway.

The no-expense-spared bash was held at D Marie Bay Hotel in Marmaris Turkey with the Mayor of Marmaris, Mehmet Oktay, officiating the ceremony.

Kate and Rio began dating after the tragic death of his wife, Rebecca Ellison, the mother of his three children Lorenz, 13, Tate, 11, and Tia.
