Rio Ferdinand's brutal assessment of Tottenham draw with Olympiakos

Rio Ferdinand slammed Tottenham for their Champions League draw with Olympiakos.

Spurs, who were beaten by Liverpool in last season's final, threw away a two-goal lead in their group stage opener in Greece.

Harry Kane fired Spurs ahead from the penalty spot before a fine striker from Lucas Moura.

The excellent Daniel Podence got one back for the hots before Mathieu Valbuena levelled the scores from the spot.

And Ferdinand was far from impressed with Mauricio Pochettino's men for their second-half display.

“Spurs will be kicking themselves,” Ferdinand said.

“You go two up, away from home, you’ve silenced the crowd an you go and throw it away like that.

“Lapses of concentration, the experiences of last season you would think that they’ve learnt from that.

“It just seems that they haven’t and I think that they’re going to go back and Pochettino will be gutted with a few individuals.

“But as a team performance I thought they were just slack and lax and I felt even with the last bit with [Hugo] Lloris, he kind of epitomised their performance today.

“Coming out, lacklustre, and as you said really Spursy, really, if you want to put it like that.”

Dele Alli also had a goal ruled out for Tottenham , whose next game in the competition is against Bayern Munich on October 1.
