Rio Ferdinand reveals whether he'd prefer to play under Marcelo Bielsa or Jose Mourinho

Rio Ferdinand has argued he would prefer to play under Marcelo Bielsa than Jose Mourinho.

The Leeds United boss has earned rave reviews for his side's free-flowing, attacking football since he arrived in England.

Leeds have been box-office this season, conceding and scoring 30 goals in 16 matches.

Mourinho, meanwhile, has converted Tottenham into a tough-to-beat counter-attacking team this season, with the quality of Harry Kane and Heung-Min Son causing all sorts of problems.

There was even initial talk of a title challenge from Tottenham, although a four-match winless run in the Premier League has ended that premature discussion ahead of Leeds' visit.

Ahead of the pragmatist vs purist clash, Ferdinand has claimed he would prefer to play under Bielsa's style of football than Mourinho, as he would feel too restricted under the former Manchester United and Chelsea boss.

"In England, I think it's a different ball game," Ferdinand told BT Sport.

"If fans were here, I think it would be a very different ball game. I don't think you would (play for Mourinho over Bielsa).

"If every game you're sitting there just to defend 1-0 leads, you're a player that works from box to box and you're told to stay, you can't elaborate as much as you want to do, there's no imagination.

"He played with them (Ronaldo and Ozil at Real Madrid) years ago, he's changed since then. I think he's (Mourinho) is a fantastic manager and you have to respect Jose Mourinho but if you're talking about wanting to play for someone, I don't want to always be subdued."
