Rio Ferdinand responds to fans criticising Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer

Rio Ferdinand has launched a strong defence of Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, following a 2-0 defeat on Sunday at the hands of West Ham.

Goals from Andriy Yarmolenko and Aaron Cresswell condemned the Red Devils to a second Premier League defeat of the season, with United picking up eight points from the opening six matches.

Following a number of poor results this term, some fans are already demanding a change at the top by suggesting that United should look to replace Solskjaer .

However, that view did not sit well with Ferdinand - who provided his views on the matter out of a car window after the match, sharing the clip on social media.

He said: "Ole out? Come on man, where's that coming from? Ole out for what? Are we just going to keep changing managers every week, is that what everyone wants?

"You get a bad result, you change. Two weeks ago I didn't see anyone saying 'we want Ole out' and now it's changing after two weeks. Come on man.

"It's too knee-jerk, sometimes you've just got to let things play out."
