Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand has identified the problem that Arsenal exploited against Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side, which he suggested was caused by Paul Pogba's absence.
A thrilling first-half performance from the Gunners saw the hosts take a 2-0 lead into the break, following goals from Nicolas Pepe and Sokratis Papastathopoulos.
Arsenal were superb throughout in controlling the play and didn't allow United to create opportunities, as their high press restricted the time they had on the ball.
However, former Arsenal striker Robin van Persie explained his belief that United did not have any players in the squad who could link defence to attack - and asked Ferdinand if he felt the same.
“As a striker you want that feeling that the ball can arrive and the back six, I don’t really see anyone who can give a final ball," van Persie said.
The Dutchman then asked fellow pundit Rio Ferdinand what he thought about the problem for Manchester United, with the former England defender bringing the conversation back to Pogba's absence, with the World Cup winner missing the clash at the Emirates Stadium through injury.
“That’s why the frustration lies when you don’t see [Paul] Pogba out there playing," he said.
"It’s frustrating because he’s the man who can get the ball from a defensive position to the likes of [Marcus] Rashford.
“I’ve seen Rashford make about six runs here today where he should have got in and that ball didn’t come.”
