Rio Ferdinand picks out Manchester United's best value signing

Rio Ferdinand has identified one of his former Manchester United teammates as the club's best value signing in years.

The former United centre-back is currently in Vietnam with Tiger Beer to promote the Tiger Street Football tournament in Southeast Asia.

And while over there he has linked up with ex-Red Park Ji-sung, with whom he won four Premier Leagues, three League Cups, a Champions League and a Club World Cup at United.

Ferdinand posed for a picture with Park for Instagram and captioned it: "Good to spend last few days with Mr Ji Unit... one of the Premier League's & United's best value for money signing in years, £4mill."

Unsurprisingly, fans in the comments were quick to make comparisons between Park and United's current crop of players.

"Probably better than our first team and he’s retired," one wrote, while another said: "Played his heart out every game it’s what’s missing at moment."

Meanwhile, Ferdinand is backing his former West Ham teammate Frank Lampard to take over at Chelsea following Maurizio Sarri's move to Juventus.

Derby confirmed in a statement released on Tuesday that Chelsea have been given permission to speak to Lampard about their vacant manager's job.

Speaking over the weekend, Ferdinand told Didier Drogba that Lampard should be given the chance to succeed at Stamford Bridge.

"I think he is talking," Ferdinand said. "He's gonna get it, if he's talking he's going to get the job.

"Frank, take the job man! Chelsea need you. He's my friend, he should get the job, he deserves it."
